Magenta Research, a US based manufacturer of high quality connectivity solutions has announced the release of a new video signal extension product. The AK 500 C7™ is being introduced to address the many customer requests from Europe to offer a high quality CAT-7 video extension solution. To optimize its performance capabilities, the AK 500 C7™ has been accurately tailored to compensate for signal losses associated with transmission through CAT-7 / Class F and Class FA FTP (foiled twisted pair) cable. In addition to razor sharp video, this new receiver supports audio and serial communications. It is also compatible with the entire current MultiView product line including the scalable Mondo Matrix video switching platform. “Unlike other products claiming CAT-7 capability, the AK 500 C7™ is based on proprietary compensation techniques rather than market-available packaged silicon,” explains Bob Michaels, President and CEO of Magenta Research. “This approach eliminates artifacts and results in superior video performance.” With the introduction of the AK 500 C7™, applications that call for CAT-7 infrastructure can take full advantage of the performance, flexibility and reliability of the entire MultiView signal management product portfolio. The AK 500 C7™ will be making its official debut at the Integrated Systems Europe Show next week in Amsterdam.
