Magenta Research: Company Overview |
|
In 1998, the Magenta Research division of Micrognosis, Inc. became a separate corporation. Originally targeting the financial and trading floor markets, Magenta quickly transferred its focus to dynamic signage. Today, Magenta Research is a demonstrated leader in the transmission, switching and flexible distribution of audio/visual and serial signals. Popular applications for its flagship MultiView™ Series include: airports, retail, casinos, museums, gas stations, theatres, sports arenas, restaurant menu boards, drive-through order confirmation screens, rail stations, courtrooms, corporate offices, call centers, waiting rooms, productions, cruise ships, conference rooms and residences.
In 2003 Magenta accomplished an industry first - the distribution of high-resolution UXGA video at a distance of 1,500 feet (457 meters) over Cat5-type cable. The MultiView Series is an adaptive, highly robust and cost-effective line of transmitter, receiver, switcher and distributive systems for a large variety of A/V applications. MultiView applies patent-pending technology to achieve the highest available performance of all forms of video, plus audio and serial control signals, over Cat5/UTP cable.
In 2005 Magenta introduced the Mondo Matrix, the first multimedia Cat5 matrix switcher that can be scaled incrementally from 16x16 to 256x256. Since it greatly reduces the size, cost and complexity compared to traditional video switchers, and paired with the MultiView Series enables longer source-to-display distances, the Mondo Matrix quickly became a new standard for casino, drilling platform and other control room applications.
At InfoComm 2006, Magenta demonstrated repeating, digital video receivers in both the fiber and Cat6 modes, enabling unlimited DVI extension - an industry first. The Infinea DVI Series uniquely extends the combination of DVI, stereo audio and pollable duplex serial, 10 km over one optical fiber and/or 600 ft. over one Cat6 cable. Infinea’s daisy-chain receivers can be mixed and matched as needed to cover any distance.
Magenta also offers video adapters, HDTV over Cat5 hardware, KVM and USB extenders, mounting kits and accessories. Based in New Milford, CT, Magenta utilizes a network of distributors, representatives and Professional AV dealers to market its enabling technology worldwide.
